Gallery: 2010 Modellers Expo and Competition
Part One
Special Display commemorating The Battle Of Britain
On July 17th and 18th IPMS Southland "went public" and held their annual modeller's expo and competition at the Invercargill Workingmen's Club. The show was considered a success with a good number of bods through the door. In an attempt to create more interest, this year we added a colouring competition for kids to enter in the weeks leading up to the show. This yielded great results as there were almost a hundred entries?? which made for a very colourful and vibrant display in one corner of the room. Plus, it added a whole new atmosphere to the event which was enjoyed by children and families alike.
The other special feature of the expo was the Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary display. With props such as the Union Jack flag, gas mask, and an actual vintage aircraft recognition model, the large display had a lot of interest and admiration from a broad cross-section of the public.
