2014 National Competition - Christchurch NZ
3rd & 4th October
(Present: Lester, Russ, Steve, Greg, Greg Bl.)
Well, another contest done and dusted! And while for the Invercargill contingent who travelled up to Christchurch it was a worthwhile and successful quest the event itself was certainly not without it's controversies! (Like most of our competitions!)
Our representative team (the Three Musketeers plus D'artagnan - a.k.a. Greg Bl.) have returned home (almost victorious!) with multiple rewards: Lester scored three BRONZE ribbons and a "Highly Commended"; Russ made off with a variety of ribbons, ranging from "Highly Commended" up to GOLD, for all eight of his entries, and; Greg managed to scrape up SILVER ribbons for each of his four entries. Russ also attained "Runner-up Best In Class" for his 1/48 scale Sturmovic, and his "old" MV Augusta 750-GP bike. However, our greatest triumph was gained by our "Christchurch-based representative, Greg Bl. - who scored, not one, but two "Best-In-Class" spots! (Military Vehicles and Diorama.)
Given the overall high standard of kits on tables, and the tough judging, our humble club has once again managed to make it's presence felt in the "national" arena! Well done, guys!!
