GALLERY: 2021 MODEL EXPO
and
South Island Championships
The weekend of July 24th and 25th heralded another successful event for IPMS Southland with lots of models on tables and many people through the door to peruse and marvel at the high standard and sheer talent on display. The Central Otago Modellers Society were there, running the largest modular rail layout we have ever hosted, and we had well stocked retail stalls run by NZ Models, Laird Motorsport, and "new kid on the block" Toot Toot Model Supplies. The two special subject displays looked great, especially the massive Pearl Harbour / Pacific tribute with it's rows of aircraft in all shapes and sizes.
It was also great to catch up with our out of town guests who travelled from as far afield as Christchurch. Of course a special mention must go to John Fenton who deservedly walked away with the coveted Best In Show award, and to our own illustrious leader, Gary Greer, who took the runner-up prize.
Congratulations to all who won ribbons on the day with their amazing models and, indeed to all involved in this fantastic event. Everyone's time and effort helped to make this, the 2021 Model Expo a very memorable success. Thank you.
