Updated 24 March 2024
For those intending to compete, here are some details and information regarding the 2024 Nationals. Easy to follow bullet points, in no particular order. If you have any genuine queries please contact us via the CONTACTS page or find us on Facebook. The following information may be subject to change so please check back regularly.
- Set-up is Friday 11th October, noon - 7pm, and all entries can be submitted and processed at this time. There will also be time on Saturday morning for "late arrivals", from 9am until 11am. No entries will be accepted after 11am as the judging should be well under way by then.
- Competition is open to non-IPMS modellers, national and international. (refer Class N)
- Competition fees are set at NZ$5.00 per entry, up to a maximum total of NZ$20.00 (four entries or more).
- Competitors can enter as many models, dioramas, etc. as they wish but must complete a separate entry form for each.
- Place-getting models (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd) or any that attained a gold standard in any previous National Competition are not eligible.
- The 2024 National competition will use the Gold-Silver-Bronze (GSB) award system with Best In Class trophies for each Class (not sub-classes).
- GSB applies to all entries in the three Special Theme displays with a trophy awarded to the best in each.
- Bases are strongly recommended (but not mandatory) for all entries, except Junior Class.
- There will be no forms or pieces of paper on display tables. Entries will only be identified by a numbered card.
- Judging of all entries will be done in-situ. No models will be unduly touched or moved without the modeller's specific permission.
- Torches and magnifiers will not be used by judges.
- Feedback from judges will be mandatory unless an entrant selects "No Feedback" on their entry form.
- Communication of any sort with any judge or judges prior to the conclusion of judging is strictly prohibited. Any abuse or harassment of judges or club members, or interference with the judging process will not be tolerated, and anyone deemed to be in offence of this rule will have all their entries removed from the competition.
- For more detailed information about the running and judging of this competition please refer to the IPMS National Competition Guidelines.
- BIG SCREEN / SMALL SCREEN - TV & Movies Open to any model subject (character, vehicle, etc.) that has featured in a movie, television series, or documentary.
- D-DAY 80th ANNIVERSARY DISPLAY This special display will feature anything related to Operation: Overlord, June / August of 1944.
